When do you know ,when enough is enough.Often people don't understand when to leave well enough alone.I have a close friend that is very dear to me.She has been the most loyal person I know, and when someone finds her as a friend she will be there through thick and thin. Her loyalty to others started so long ago.She always felt alone her entire life. For some strange reasons her life has always been filled with turmoil, drama, hurt, abandonment and just a little bit of happiness. You know I often look her in her face and wonder if its anything I could do to help fix it.Seeing the hurt and loneliness in her eyes brings me to tears.
Often I ponder with the thought of are we really the architects of our on destiny? Or is it when were born into this world "it is what it is"? Every week for the last 18 years I have witness so much hurt and heartache come upon this one person.Did she do something wrong to deserve it? Or is it that she is being prepared for something else more dynamic?
Her life spiraled out of control as a teenager.Being a homeless teenager in a big city ,often caused her to be in situaition that she was to young to be exposed to.When she gave birth to her first child ,it was tough .Then several years later another and not even 8 months later another one came alone.Being a single mom is tough enough .But being a single mom with children that needs twenty four care has to be devastating. Many years went by and not a soul would come by the hospital or the house.Once I was complaining about someone coming to see me too often. She looked at me and told me that I needed to count my blessing."Be thankful your family has your back". My friend told me about the birth of her first child and it broke me down to tears.
"Imagine being 17 years old in labor and it's just you,the nurses and finally the delivering physicians"!Wow,actually I could not imagine that.My buddy always have wondered what made her so diffrent than any other children in her family. Why is it that their always there for every child in their family but her.I guess that's what prompt her to leave. Its like why stay around and deal with people who can care less.
The last 6 years have been even worse ,each day trying to figure out how she will make it .Empty pantry shelves and only ice in the fridge.I can only imagine that makes her feel even worse.Often i would offer to help her with something and like always she turns it down. Her saying is " I am Ok girl" I really wish i knew how to help her.Lately her children have been giving her hell.constanlty reminding her that she has not did anything for their birthdays or christmas in years.I swear I wanted to cry for her.Facing a new challenge every week.I would never disclose her name or her entire situation. But I wonder do people think about their actions and how it effects others.
I am hurting for her.At this point in her life her Faith is truly being tested.I continue to pray for her and her kids each day.I pray for her to overcome her struggles finacially and spirtully.I also pray for her child that gives her the most greif, and her husband who is not supportive of her.I know for sure if I had children, neices or nephews I would never make a diffrence in them. Its really pityful that ofetn people looked down on others for what they have or may not have. One thing for sure,my buddy pretnds very well, that everything is ok.I have to help her find away to mend her heart, finding a way to help will be challenging.Due to the fact only people who wants to be help can be helped.
What would you do to help? What advice could you give?
